The reason not to trust other people is displayed in many ways. For example, in the book, “Treasure Island,” many Pirates use information about a secret treasure chest to their own advantage. Because the pirates use secret information to their own gains unfairly, we should not always trust others with our secrets.
This leads to the theme of not being greedy. I think that many people are led to their death because of their greediness. Most people that are greedy are greedy about money, as displayed in Treasure Island and in the books of Horatio Alger. For example, because the pirates were so greedy about some treasure on the Treasure Island, they were killed. Therefore, we should not be like the pirates or like many people who gamble, steal, and are unfair because of their greed for money. Greediness is bad.
To not trust pirates with secrets and to not be greedy were two of the important themes of the book Treasure Island. Both of these may lead to your ruin.
