God's sovereignty is displayed through the Patriarchs in many ways. One of the Patriarchs is Abraham. Abraham is very faithful and God did many things through Abraham to show that God is sovereign. One example of God's sovereignty, is when God said to Abraham that his descendants will be like the stars of the sky. Abraham was very old, and although it seemed impossible, he believed God's word. After a year, Sarah had a baby, even though Sarah was very old. This shows God's sovereignty because God was with Abraham and Sarah, and this was to the good will of God.
One of the other Patriarchs is Isaac, the son of Abraham. He trusted in the Lord very much, and through his trust we see many examples of God's sovereignty. An example of God's sovereignty, is when Abraham sent his servant to get Isaac a wife. Abraham's servant asked for God to give him a sign, to know whom Isaac should marry. This sign that the servant asked for was granted because of his faith. This shows the Lord God's sovereignty through God doing these things for a good reason.
Another faithful Patriarch is Jacob. Jacob is the son of Isaac, and although he had a painful life God did many good things through him that showed God's sovereignty. One example of God's sovereignty through Jacob is about him and his brother Esau. Once Esau got mad with Jacob and wanted to kill him. Seeing that Esau was desperate Jacob ran away form home. As he ran away from hame, he was afraid because he usually at home and did not travel without his family much. He then trusted God and God protected him from the dangers outside. After that he received a vision from God and traveled to his uncle laban's house. Over at Laban's house he worked fourteen years to marry Laban's two daughters. God's sovereignty is show through this when Jacob accepted the Lord into his heart. God protected Jacob with a good heart.
Eng I also see God's sovereignty through our lives. An example for me is when my family and I were at Jasper. When we were hiking beside a steep hill, it started to rain. At first we kept walking but after a while I felt that my dad was getting nervous, so I started to get nervous. We started to get more silent to let my dad concentrate. After a while I trusted that my dad and God could handle this situation. As we continued to walk back, we noticed that we were lost! After about
30 min we found the right place and hiked back to our car. As we were just entering the car it started to pour. When we were on the car driving back to our lodge, in my heart I was praising God because he had rescued us from the big thunderstorm. For if the storm had arrived earlier and if God didn't find the path for us we would have to take the danger of slipping inside to the rushing waters underneath us. This shows God's sovereignty in God leading us back and waiting for the rain to come later.
The lord is sovereign in many things, both through the Patriarchs and through us.
