Joshua was one of the faithful judges in Israel. He followed God all his life, and he did not do things against God's will. Joshua was picked to be a judge form his birth, and he was a Godly man. After Moses died, he lead Israel into defeating many Canaanite tribes. Joshua believed in God and trusted God with all his heart. God was with Joshua all his life. We should follow the example of Joshua.
When Moses was alive, he sent Joshua and Caleb along with ten other spies to find about the territory of Canaan. Joshua and Caleb came back with a good report, saying that God would help the Israelites defeat the Canaanites. Contrarily, the other ten spies came with an anonymous account and said that the Canaanites were like giants in strength and that it was impossible to overcome the Canaanites. Joshua believing that God would help them, showed that Joshua had great faith in God. When Moses died, Joshua was appointed by God a Judge.
God chose Joshua to be leader of Israel because Joshua was very faithful. God told Joshua to be strong and courageous in Joshua 1:7, and if Joshua was strong and courageous God would always be with him. Joshua secretly sent two spies to Jericho. When the two spies entered Jericho, they were found out and the city closed it's gates to not let any other spies into the city. The spies arrived at Jericho and went to Rahab the prostitute's house. Rahab kept and hid the spies on condition that they would spare her family when they attacked. The spies came back safely with a good report saying that they could attack and that God would help them. Then Israelite camps went to Canaan and crossed the flooded Jordan. God separated the river waters and allowed the camps of Israel to pass.
The Israelites camped near Jericho to be ready for the attack. Later Joshua met an angel, and the angel told Joshua to march around the city six times with priests blowing their trumpets; and on the seventh day they would yell and charge in to destroy the people in Jericho. Then the walls would collapse and the Israelites would then have a great victory. The Israelites did exactly what the angel had told Joshua, and they took all the Jewellery in Jericho. Joshua also conquered many other places in Canaan. Joshua had great faith in God.
We should let Joshua be our example. Joshua was a godly man, and during his reign, he never turned away from God. When he was judge, the camps of Israel never made any major bad deeds. Sadly, when Joshua died the Word of God did not pass on and Israel started to worship Baal again. Joshua is an example we should follow.
