The prodigal son in Luke 15 and Dr. Boekman's son, Lauren are both very peculiar. Both Lauren and the prodigal son had ran away. They had both left home for different reasons, and had spent their time very differently while they were away. When both of them came home, they both were received the same way. The two sons were both very contrary.
Lauren and the prodigal son both left for different reasons. Lauren had left home because he was accused for murder. For he had mistaken a poisonous substance to be a medicine and gave it to his patient. Lauren was a good and faithful son and had worked as his dad's assistant until he left his home. On the contrary the prodigal son left the home to be free from work. He left his home, taking his share of money and spent all his money just so that he could have fun. These two sons had both left home for very different reasons. Lauren did it because he had to, but the prodigal son did it because he wanted to have fun.
These two sons did very non alike things while they were gone. Lauren had gone to work with a famous skate craftsman, and he was later promoted to manager. Lauren was the person who made the silver skates. The silver skates was the skates that the whole book Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates was about. Contrastingly, all the prodigal son did, was to have fun and party. However later on, when the prodigal son had no money, he starved and then he didn't have any fun.
These sons thought differently at the question of "Do you like to be away from home?" Lauren the faithful son, wanted to go to home, but the circumstances in the situation made him be away from his home. On the contrary the prodigal son wanted to be away from home and enjoy life. However his way of enjoying life doesn't really work, all he did is just spoil his life. When he was starved, he then thought of his family and wanted to return home. These two sons are incomparable.
At the end when these sons return home they are treated the same. Lauren's father was overjoyed to find his son alive and thanked the Brinker family with joy. While the prodigal son's father was delighted to know that his son has returned and held a feast. These two sons Lauren and the prodigal son both were treated very well by their families.
