Queen Elizabeth 1st was born in 1533 and was the child of King Henry 8th and Anne Boleyn. She turned England to Protestantism for good and was the last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. Queen Elizabeth 1st also reigned for 44 years, known as the Elizabethan era.
Elizabeth 1st was cut out of the line to the thrown when Anne Boleyn failed to produce King Henry 8th a son. When Mary succeeded Lady Jane Grey, Elizabeth was then in danger. Because Bloody Mary was a Catholic, and Elizabeth a Protestant, Elizabeth the 1st was then in danger of execution or being exiled.
Elizabeth the 1st was then put under house arrest by Bloody Mary until 1558 when Mary had died. In 1559, Elizabeth was made the Queen of England,also known as the Virgin Queen; she never married.
Elizabeth the 1st supported Protestantism, and during her reign, turned England back to Protestantism for good. King Philip of Spain was Bloody Mary's husband and wanted to be at least have come consideration to the thrown of England. As at the time, some English ships invaded Spanish ports, he took advantage of that and launched an attack on England.
After facing off with Spain for several years, Elizabeth won. Because at the time, many other countries were in political struggles, England suddenly rose to the top of the food chain.
