I'm just a normal guy in a normal family, but there is something strange about me. I'll tell you what happened, just don't tell anyone else about it.
One day, I was biking, just as I usually do, to my friend Jay's house. Suddenly, I saw a big vortex in front of me (or so I thought it was), and so I tried to bike away, but the big purple sphere of darkness pulled me inside. I felt like it was a never ending hole, but it also felt like me insides were coming out. It was HORRIBLE. I fell unconscious.
When I woke up, I looked around and I saw myself in a beautiful town, although it looked like it lacked something... It lacked modern day improvements. There was a group of people crowding around me, wearing what I thought looked like Roman Togas. They were oddly looking at me, as if I was supernatural, and bowing down.
I started by asking them in English, but they just jabbered on and on in some strange language that I did not know at all. I saw that they were many magnificent buildings, including King Nero's palace. I finally came upon someone who looked familiar. Guess who it was? It was my friend Jay!!
When I saw him, I was helpless with happiness. There was someone that I knew! We both saw each other at the same time. By this time, the people have put me on a carriage. A carriage! Not a car? So I motioned them to let me down, and guess what? Jay was also on a carriage, although it was a lot more decorated than mine. So it seemed that he was of a higher position than me. Jay came of his carriage and we met. Jay motioned me to come. He led the way to King Nero's palace! He motioned me to be quiet when he saw me opening my mouth. And I obeyed. Once we got to the place that he was leading me to, I was just about to ask him where we were. As soon as we were inside, I took a look around. I saw a MASSIVE library.
I asked Jay, "Where are we,"
He said, "We are in Ancient Rome"
I was amazed, but maybe that made sense; all the strange jabbering, the lack of technology, the togas... I agreed.
But then I asked, "Why do these people all hold us in such high esteem?"
He said, "Because they think we are Gods,"
"See here," Jay said, "I have been made a private treasurer of the King, and I'll try to get the King to like you, but he seems to want to put the next newcomer here into the Gladiator stadium!"
I said, "No way! The coliseum?"
He said, "Yes, but I have no time, see you later!"
I was left alone in the library, lost in my thoughts, and having hundreds of questions to ask.
